The Briar Collective
Empowering Women and Families Through Safety, Support, and Community

Survivor-Led. Community-Based.
Dignity-Centered.
The Briar Collective is a survivor-led nonprofit organization created in response to persistent gaps in safety, housing, and support services for women and families. Many individuals experiencing harm may not yet feel able—or safe—naming abuse, and often face significant barriers when seeking help. The Collective exists to meet people where they are, offering practical support and pathways to safety grounded in lived experience.
Through emergency housing referrals, resource navigation, and survivor-informed community support, The Briar Collective works to reduce barriers to safety, stability, and dignity. In addition to direct services, the organization develops educational materials and community resources that increase understanding of domestic violence, coercive control, and the often-hidden dynamics of abuse. Our work centers autonomy, privacy, and informed choice, empowering individuals and families to stabilize, heal, and rebuild.
